feel free to upload any Picture/s or Video/s concerning this issue. My Goal is to shed the light on the illegal booting practices and prevent these crocked companies from making another dollar.
HAS YOUR CAR BEEN "BOOTED" IN A PRIVATE PARKING LOT? HERE'S HOW TO RECLAIM YOUR LOSSES:
1) CALL YOUR LOCAL MEDIA: Expose the racketeers.2) DEMAND A RECEIPT: Operators of illegal parking lot scams will often target parking lots and arrange for a paid lookout to scout for victims. Fees to release a car from impoundment are often demanded in cash, leaving no paper trail.
3) CALL THE POLICE BEFORE YOU PAY: Chances are that the police will renege on their responsibility to protect you and will take sides with the extortionists. Just insist that you get a police report. Ask them why you are being punished with a fine by a citizen, and why you aren't being given your Constitutionally guaranteed "due process" and "right to appeal."
4) GET THE NAME OF THE PARKING LOT ATTENDANT, THE NAME OF THE OWNER, AND THE NAME OF THE BUSINESS: You will need this information to file a civil suit
5) FILE A CIVIL SUIT. ASK THE COURT CLERK ABOUT WAIVING THE FEES: Your court fees may be waived and then charged to the defendant when you win your case. Sue for the maximum amount of money allowed in small claims court. Sue for "extortion," "intimidation," "illegal detainment," and "tampering with your motor vehicle without permission." Don't merely settle for just your money back.
If You have any question/s concerning a boot you recieved on a Public/Private parking lot please feel free to ask, and i I'll respond to the best of my knowledge.
ReplyDeletehi, I would like to know if it's actually possible to sue for the maximum amount ($15000) and under what premise?
DeleteWe just got booted in target in smyrna and got $500 fine. we park there cause we are going to shop in the.morning. we just receive a call and telling us we got a $500 fine. we are a commercial vehicle and we feel we got. scammed. we call the company cause after.paying and the guy left we saw in the receipt that commercial vehicle fine is $200. they should have knock.on.our door first and inform us. we feel its not fair.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post, This was exactly what I needed to see.Good list, keep up the good work...

I got booted by Matt Lavender, I have pictures, etc. I wasn't even off the lot, and he got me within 10 seconds. He prevented me from entering my car, and also cussed at me & threatened to kill me. Police in ATL are a joke and did not care. What can I do? I have his name, home address, etc, but I would rather just get him fired. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Got booted by this idiot (in a commercial vehicle that I could park nowhere else) and was only out of the truck for two minutes tops. What info do you have on him and did you come up with any solutions to your situation? From what I understand you can not physically detain anyone or their property on private property which is. Please contact me at hydehauling@gmail.com with any questions or information.
DeleteI got booted today when parking at a 15 min parking spot. The guy put the booth before the 15 mins. I called the police and the guy had to remove the booth. A total scam - I have video of the guy getting his scam exposed.
